The 5 Shifts – Part 3 – Connection

Welcome back to part 3 of this five part blog series called “The 5 Shifts”. I’m walking you through the 5 main shifts you need to make to get you on the road to the freedom lifestyle that you want.

 

In the last post we talked about Mindset and how it’s your responsibility to take control and own your perspective, we dug deep into some pretty eye-opening questions too.

Before that, in part 1 we discussed “Clarity” and why it’s so important to be 100% clear on what it is you want and more importantly WHY you want it.

Today we find ourselves in part 3 of the 5 shifts and this is a big one, especially when we’re talking about entrepreneurs and why you’re not succeeding at the level you want to succeed.

It’s not some mythical magical tactic that you’re missing in your business it’s not your webinars, it’s not you didn’t do your Facebook ads right or any of that stuff. Of course, that stuff’s important once you get good at this because if you’re not good at this one none of that stuff will ever matter ever.

What I’m talking about is “Connection”  and what I mean by connection is:

  • How well are you connecting with your current ideal clients?
  • How well are you connecting and attracting the people that you want in your life?

If we go back to what we talked about in part 2 – mindset you’ll remember I mentioned that you might have all these people in your life that piss you off, that you react to, that frustrate you and that give you anxiety. You might want to blame all of them for how they’ve made you feel but what you’ve got to realize is you’ve attracted those people into your life and you’ve probably done it more than anything based on how well you’re connecting with yourself.

If you’re not connected with who you are then how well do you think you’re going to be able to connect with everybody else?

It has to start with you being connected and clear with who you are as a person, because once you’re clear on who you are and you have a level of integrity around that you’re not telling people to do certain things but not doing it yourself.

That’s having authenticity and integrity instead of saying “do as I say, not as I do”

You should be at a place where you know you can say:

“I’m not recommending to everybody else what they should be doing to improve their life, their health, their business. I’m not telling them to implement ‘this’ into whatever they’re doing if I’m not doing that stuff myself at a level that I feel confident and proud of where I’m coming from.

I have a high level of integrity and what I’m able to do is, I’m able to share my message with people in a way where they believe me because they can see that I lead by example and there’s an authenticity around it.”

 

I always have people coming to me saying “I’ve been running this funnel and doing this marketing and everything else etc..” I’m like cook, ok, but

  • How well are you actually even connecting with your ideal clients?
  • How much time do you spend working with clients that you don’t want to work with versus kind you do to work with.
  • How often do you bitch about the clients that you have and complain about them versus the ones who are so easy and they’re willing to pay you above and beyond what you deliver for them right because they see the value in what you offer and they connect with you on an authentic level.

Relationships and connection are key for success!

Everything else that you want to do in your life all comes back to connection.

If you want to succeed in what is happening with the online industry, in online marketing and direct response and everything else over the next 12 to 24 to 36 months you have to get great at this. If you’re not great at this now you need to catch up.

You need to spend more time connecting with your ideal clients making sure that you’re doing it from a place of integrity and authenticity, because there are so many people out there preaching the same things.

So many people out there are saying that they want to help people with X, Y and Z to make the dollars and cents rather than coming from a connection first and realizing that if I do that on a good enough level the dollars and cents will take care of themselves.

This is especially true if you’re really clear on your why and on who you are. Everything comes back to that first initial stage.
